HUMON - an investment in your wellbeing

HUMON is a humidifier installed in the ventilation system, operating on the adiabatic principle of natural evaporation. During the adiabatic process, humidity is absorbed into the flowing, condensation-free air.

This ensures that no excess humidity is created in the air and that you can breathe easily.

This humidifier is extremely efficient and cost-effective to operate and maintain. Its autonomous control allows you to optimise water and electricity consumption, while its advanced design reduces maintenance costs.

HUMON not only adds humidity to your home, but also keeps the air clean.

How does humidification work?

The air enters the humidifier through the ventilation opening, where the temperature is first adjusted by the PTC heater if needed.

Then air passes through the honeycomb of the humidification cartridge. This honeycomb is saturated with filtered clean water. The air passing through it picks up as much humidity as it can.

The humidified air then travels on to the bipolar ioniser inside the humidifier. This device cleans the air of pathogens it may contain.

Clean and fresh air flows throughout your home.

The air enters the humidifier through the ventilation opening, where the temperature is first adjusted by the PTC heater.

A PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater raises the temperature of the air to be humidified: the higher it is, the more humidity can be saturated. It is an electrical appliance that uses positive temperature coefficient technology.

  • Efficient: low energy consumption
  • Cost-effective: long-lasting operation
  • Safe: no risk of fire
  • Steady temperature rise
  • Adaptive self-regulating system
  • Low surface temperature
  • Built-in overheating protection

Such heaters consume less electricity to generate the same amount of heat than conventional heating elements. They are also safer because they have a lower surface temperature, which means there is no risk of fire. Because they are lighter and smaller, PTC heaters are ideal for humidifiers.

How does PTC work?

PTCs are made using semiconductor materials with different resistances (the ability of a material to resist electric current) – this is what makes PTCs efficient, cost-effective and safe.

The PTC heater is self-regulating and therefore does not overheat and is energy efficient.

It operates in two phases:

  • An electric current is applied to the cell, heat is generated and at the same time the resistance of the PTC material increases.

  • As the resistance increases, the conductivity and power of the PTC material decreases, i. e. the electric current is blocked, resulting in a temperature drop.

Such heaters consume less electricity to generate the same amount of heat than conventional heating elements. They are also safer, as their surface heats up less, so there is no risk of fire. Being lighter and smaller, PTC heaters are ideal for humidifiers.

As the temperature drops, the resistance decreases and the cycle repeats itself.
Developed using advanced technology, the PTC heating element acts as an electrical conductor and its resistance increases as the temperature rises. This means that when a certain temperature is reached, the heater gives off heat and starts to cool down. This self-regulating principle ensures that the heater does not overheat, does not create a fire risk and remains durable

The HUMON humidifier can deliver up to 80 litres of water vapour per day – more than any portable humidifier – and, most importantly, it will do so through natural evaporation.

The humidification cartridge humidifies the air flowing through it with pure and filtered water. It consists of two parts: a water filter and a honeycomb evaporating material made of glass fibre

  • Ultrafiltration from 0,015 µm
  • Increased filter capacity
  • High humidification efficiency
  • 5 dB quieter operation in the duct

The ultrafilter traps particles as small as 0.015 microns, including viruses and bacteria in the water, and sediments. The increased capacity prolongs its operation during the mode period. The glass fibre evaporating material has a high water absorption coefficient and sound attenuation, making the whole system much quieter.

This combination of humidification cartridges ensures that the air to be humidified is clean; moreover, the operation is quiet, economical and the device is easy to use.

How does the cartridge work?

The incoming water first passes through a water filter that traps even extremely fine particles of 0.015 microns, such as viruses and bacteria or sediment. The purified water is then absorbed into the evaporation material. The glass-fibre honeycomb retains a particularly high volume of water, which results in less water being lost, i.e. less waste water being generated. The air passing through this material is saturated with humidity.

The humidified air then travels to the ioniser where it is ionised and purified.

  • Up to 99.9999% of Legionella bacteria are trapped
  • Durable stainless-steel housing
  • Economical, less waste water
  • Each part is individually replaceable
  • Convenient and easy change of parts

The housing of the humidification cartridge is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, which ensures the hygiene and durability of the humidification cartridge. The Evaporation honeycomb is made of glass fibre, which has excellent water absorption and air permeability. The water filter is made of a high-quality ultrafiltration membrane. The combination of all these materials ensures that the humidification cartridge does not form dangerous colonies of micro-organisms – biofilm.

Forget allergies, coughs or illnesses – get rid of bacteria, viruses and fungi for good.

An ioniser is a device that charges air molecules with ions to improve indoor air quality. The main purpose of air ionisation is to clean the air of unpleasant odours, viruses and bacteria and to enable people to breathe extremely clean and fresh air.

  • Damages and destroys up to 97% of pathogens
  • Kills viruses and bacteria
  • Prevents the formation of mould
  • Eliminates unpleasant odours

While conventional humidifiers are limited to filtering water, HUMON purifies the air as well as the water. The humidifier’s bipolar ioniser is a double guarantee of clean indoor air. The humidification and ionisation function always work together, so that only ionised, clean and fresh airflow fills the home.

How does the ioniser work?

A bipolar ioniser charges airborne molecules of dust and pathogens (bacteria, viruses, other micro-organisms) with positive and negative ions by passing an electric current through electrodes.

When the dust molecules acquire opposite charges, they are attracted to each other and stick together, forming larger formations that are too heavy to float in air.

Pathogens (such as bacteria and viruses) react differently to ionisation, with positive and negative ions enveloping them and preventing oxygen from penetrating. Without a way to breathe, pathogens die.

Ionisation also neutralises some odours and airborne aerosols; moreover, breaks down volatile organic compounds (various airborne chemicals).

Supply duct sensor T1 measures the relative humidity and temperature in the ducts.

This ensures automatic operation of the humidifier – in response to changes in the environment, the HUMON humidifier sets the necessary parameters and saturates the air with the required amount of moisture accordingly.

The humidifier is controlled according to the readings of temperature and humidity sensors. The sensors have external plugs, there is no need to open and connect the sensors to the control board.

How does T1 work?

Sensor T1 measures the humidity and temperature in the air supply duct. The temperature and humidity information are displayed in real time on the humidifier’s touch screen.

The combined sensors identify and automatically calculate the relative humidity and adjust the humidifier accordingly.

T3 is a temperature sensor, with the help of which the algorithm sees information about the need for irrigation in standby mode.

Sensitive to temperature changes.

Accurate.

Reliable construction.

Tracking the outdoor air temperature allows the humidifier to ensure optimal regulation of air humidification. External temperature data can be used for energy-saving humidification strategies and adaptation of humidifier operation according to temperature, thus avoiding excess costs.

How does T3 work?

The T3 NTC is a thermistor with a temperature-sensitive resistor (a device of a specific resistance used to generate the required voltage).

It is installed in the air intake duct between the outdoor air intake and the ventilation unit. Only after the T3 sensor has read the correct outdoor air temperature data, can the desired humidification parameters be set. You can also monitor the humidifier’s temperature sensors on the humidifier control panel.

The T3 NTC sensor thus helps to react in real time to changes in temperature and humidity to calculate the optimum humidification for your home.

The exhaust air sensor T4 measures the relative humidity and temperature of the rooms.

This ensures automatic operation of the humidifier – in response to changes in the environment, the HUMON humidifier automatically sets the necessary parameters and saturates the premises with air of the required humidity.

Once the desired room humidification is achieved, the controller will reduce or completely stop the need for humidification.

The humidifier is controlled according to the readings of temperature and humidity sensors.

The sensors have external plugs, there is no need to open and connect the sensors to the control board.

Extremely comfortable control

The humidifier is self-contained - simply enter the desired temperature and humidity level and the appliance will select the desired mode.

Service at one touch

During the lifetime of the humidifier, the evaporating material usually needs to be replaced as it grows crystals and wears out. You no longer need to buy an entire humidification unit to renew just one part. HUMON is the humidifier that is so easy to service and saves you money.
Stop wasting money on conventional vaporisers

With conventional portable humidifiers, you risk contaminating your home with bacteria and unwanted micro-organisms. Even daily maintenance does not guarantee that the humidifier is completely clean and your home is safe.

The HUMON Humidifier consists of an aluzink coated steel housing and a PTC heater inside, a stainless-steel humidification cartridge with a filter and a water-absorbing honeycomb material, an ioniser and temperature/humidity sensors. The humidifier operates autonomously, so you do not need to select the unit mode or connect it to the recuperator controller. Simply set the desired humidity level and temperature on the HUMON electronic control panel, which will be installed in a convenient location indoors

Installing a ventilation system in a room exacerbates the problem of dry air because the ventilation system provides dry air during the cold season. When indoor relative humidity drops below 40 per cent, it causes discomfort, uncomfortable breathing, dry skin, lips and hair, as well as splitting of wooden furniture. Dust, pathogens and other unwanted particles float in dry air. By regulating the humidity level indoors, you can ensure safe and quality indoor air.

Humidified and ioniser-cleaned air can improve your well-being:

  • Better sleep and rest
  • Experience less stress and tension
  • Breathe cleaner air
  • Reduce upper respiratory problems
  • You can feel safer, even if you suffer from asthma or allergy attacks
  • You will have more energy

Ionisation is the process which involves charging molecules or atoms with a positive or negative charge by passing an electric current. Particles with different charges are attracted to each other, they combine into larger groups and settle. Positive and negative ions surround the molecules and neutralise them, thus removing pathogens, viruses and bacteria from the air. The main purpose of air ionisation is to purify the air and enable people to breathe in a fresh and clean way.

Ions are known to have a positive effect on the human body, which is why mountain air is said to be the best – it has more positive and negative ions, which purify the air. Ions bind to molecules or atoms and charge them. Meanwhile, particles with opposite charges join together in larger groups and settle. Increasing pollution and living in areas with little green space increase the circulation of harmful airborne particles, making people feel less physically comfortable in such places than they do when they are surrounded by nature. Breathing ionised air makes people feel more lively and energetic

Yes, the humidifier works autonomously, which means that the system adapts to the energy consumption required. In addition, the PTC heating element is self-regulating, has a low surface temperature and built-in overheating protection, so there is no risk of fire even if the humidifier is left on the whole time.

The humidifier can be easily and quickly controlled via the in-wall electronic control panel. Enter the desired parameters – the desired relative humidity and temperature – and the humidifier will select the required mode

Yes, depending on the ducting connection, you need to choose either the left or the right side for the humidifier inspection

Very often, the parts of humidifiers are inseparable and in order to replace just one of them, you need to buy the whole humidification unit. With a HUMON humidifier it’s different – you are free to replace only the parts you need. If it’s time to replace the humidifier honeycomb and the filter is working fine, there’s no extra cost because you can buy and replace the honeycomb alone. What’s more, you won’t have to disassemble the whole humidifier, pull it out of the duct, risk splashing water, or otherwise complicate the job by replacing a single part – these humidifier cartridges are accessible via the side door. Simply open it and replace the part you need. Click here for exact instructions on how to replace the honeycomb.

The evaporation honeycomb is an air humidifying fabric made of fibreglass. It works like a sponge – the fibre in the honeycomb collects a large amount of purified water, so that excess water and leakage are avoided. Other humidifiers often use cardboard, but ours is energy efficient and cost-effective

No, as the HUMON humidifier works autonomously, it does not need to be connected to a recuperator controller. The humidifier and the recuperator do not have to be specifically matched or made by the same manufacturer. This is the reason why HUMON is so versatile

Relative humidity is a term used to describe the amount of water vapor in the air. It is the ratio between the absolute moisture present (g/kg) and the maximum moisture that can be absorbed (g/kg) at a given temperature, measured in %. For example, 100% indicates vapor-saturated air, and 0% indicates completely dry air.

Indoor humidity depends on many factors: the season, the time of day, the materials in the house and the plants. In residential buildings, the relative humidity should be between 30-60% during the cold season and can increase to 65% during the warm season, but cannot be lower than 30%. The humidifier operates in accordance with these recommendations, so that the indoor air always meets the specified requirements

Sensors are needed to allow the humidifier to detect indoor humidity and temperature in the ducts.

The humidity depends on the temperature: the higher the temperature, the more water vapour is needed. The combined sensors identify and automatically calculate the relative humidity and adjust the humidifier accordingly

Indoor humidity is strongly influenced by outdoor temperature and seasonality. For example, in summer, the air temperature is high and the humidity level is also higher, so at this time of the year there is more indoor humidity that can condense. The T3 NTC sensor therefore helps to react in real time to changes in temperature and humidity and thus calculate the optimum humidification for your home
